ORC ry. - the Otaniemi Role playing Club - is a Student Union club at the Helsinki University of Technology. Our main emphasis is on role playing games, but our members take part in almost any activity from board games to live action role playing. ORC also organizes miscellaneous happenings (Legendary Kuutamoulvojaiset - MoonHowling), excursions, and the annual Ropecon.
ORC gathers together twice a week, Tuesdays at 1800 hours and Fridays at 1700 hours in the Jämeräntaival 3A gameroom in Otaniemi. Orcs relax and play the library's or members' games. Sometimes there are even official matters. RPG's and time-consuming strategy games are usually played at the members' residences.
The ORC's library (library list in Finnish) offers a broad range of games for the members' use. The Librarian (or any member of our club)will be glad to give more information during the game evenings.
HUT students may join ORC on the gaming evenings for 7 euros. External and Supporting Members are gladly accepted, but they may not take part in the official meetings.
Do not let the insider atmosphere intimidate you - new people are welcome, old orcs just find it difficult to follow radical developements - such as new members - in their cozy environment and to behave in a semi-civilized manner.
